Director Vishuvardhan is ecstatic as his film Shershaah is
receiving immense love and appreciation from the audience. Shershaah is based
on the true story of Indian Army Captain Vikram Batra, who was awarded the
Param Vir Chakra, India's highest honor, for his valorous actions during the
1999 Kargil War.
However, not many know that the director before starting
work on Shershaah was in talks with Kamal Haasan for his next project. “See
before Shershaah came to me, Sandeep Srivastava the writer of this film, and I
were working on another project which we were supposed to be doing with Kamal
Hassan down south. We were just on a basic level of scripting, we just started
that and Sandeep had gotten into just got into Shershaah do the research of it
and he wanted a director's perspective so we started discussing the film,"
says the director during an exclusive interaction with Spotboye.
Now that Shershaah released and has been garnering immense
love from the audience, ask the director if he will continue his work on the
script with Kamal, he responds, “I don’t know what is going to happen. I really
don’t know even if that’s going to happen or not. What I’m doing next,
absolutely have no clue. Talking about his future films, he quips, "It's
not like I have signed a couple of films, don't have any lineup. I never
actually work like that and if I would have done that Shershaah wouldn’t have
happened. That’s the truth”.
Shershaah starred Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in
pivotal roles. The film was directed by Vishnuvardhan and produced by Karan
Johar. It has been considered as Siddharth Malhotra’s best performance till
date. The film was released on 12th August and is currently streaming on Amazon
Prime Video.
